Family Health Insurance in St. Petersburg
We help parents find one plan that covers everyone and still makes sense in month ten. We line up options from several carriers, show you what a normal year and a rough year would cost, and you pick. The consultation is free.

One plan, everyone on it, a cost you can live with
Family health insurance puts you, a spouse and your kids on a single policy with one premium. Children can stay on a parent's plan until they turn 26. The hard part is not finding a plan. It is finding one where the premium, the deductible and the doctor list all work for your family at the same time.
A cheap monthly premium can turn expensive fast when a kid breaks an arm or needs regular visits. A pricey plan can be money wasted if nobody uses it. So we look past the monthly number and add up what you would really pay over twelve months.
We are an independent insurance agency, which means we are not tied to one carrier. We show you plans from more than one company and tell you plainly where each one falls short.
What we go over with you
- Full-year cost, two ways
- We price each plan for a quiet year with checkups only and for a hard year where someone hits the out-of-pocket maximum. Seeing both numbers side by side is usually what settles the choice.
- Embedded vs. family deductible
- Some plans make one child meet the whole family deductible before coverage kicks in. Others cap each person at their own share. We point out which kind each plan uses, because it changes your costs a lot.
- Pediatricians and specialists in network
- Give us the names of your family's doctors and we check each plan's network. Keeping the pediatrician your kids already trust is often worth more than a small premium difference.
- Medications and regular care
- If someone in the family takes a daily medication or sees a specialist often, we look up how each plan covers it. Drug tiers and visit copays add up month after month.
- Kids' dental and vision
- Some family plans include pediatric dental and vision, some don't. If yours doesn't, we can talk through separate dental insurance or vision insurance so there are no gaps.
- Savings you may qualify for
- Based on your family's income, you may get a tax credit on an ACA Marketplace plan. We check that before you compare prices, so you're looking at the real cost.
When your family's plan deserves a second look
Adding a child
A birth or an adoption opens a window, usually 60 days, to add coverage or switch plans without waiting for open enrollment. Reach out soon so your child is covered starting on day one.
You just got married
Two separate plans can cost more than one family plan, or less. We run both ways so you know before you switch.
Work coverage ended or got pricey
Losing a job, leaving one, or seeing your employer raise the cost to add family members are all good reasons to compare. Losing coverage also opens a special enrollment period.
Your deductible keeps winning
If you pay for most of the year's care yourself before the plan helps, the plan may not fit how your family uses care anymore.
Open enrollment is coming
Each fall, plans and prices change. Renewing without looking can lock you into a plan that got worse while a better one sat right next to it.
How it works when you call
- 1
A short first call
We ask who needs coverage, their ages, your rough income, and which doctors and medications matter. It takes about as long as a cup of coffee.
- 2
We line up the options
We pull plans from several carriers that fit your family and cut the ones that don't. You get side-by-side plan options, not a stack of brochures.
- 3
We walk you through them
By phone, video or at our office, we go over each plan's premium, deductible, out-of-pocket max and network. We tell you which one we'd pick for your family and why, and you decide.
- 4
Enrollment and after
Once you choose, we help you finish enrollment and check that everyone got their cards. When a life change or open enrollment comes around, call us and we'll look again.

What drives the cost of a family plan
Family coverage has no fixed price. The premium comes down to who is covered and which plan you pick, and your true spending comes down to how much care your family needs. We walk through each piece before you commit.
- Number and ages of people covered
- Each person added pushes the monthly premium up. Adult rates rise as people get older, and rates for kids tend to stay lower.
- Metal level
- Bronze has a low monthly cost but leaves more for you to pay before the plan shares costs. Gold reverses that, charging a higher premium for a lower deductible. Silver falls between them, and some families qualify for extra help with out-of-pocket costs on it.
- How wide the network is
- Narrower doctor networks usually mean a lower monthly bill. That only works in your favor if your family's doctors are on the list.
- Your income and tax credits
- On a Marketplace plan, your income can bring the premium down, sometimes by a wide margin. We look at this before anything else so the comparison is fair.
- Expected doctor visits and prescriptions
- Families with frequent visits or daily medications often do better with a pricier plan and smaller copays. A family that rarely needs care may come out ahead with a lower premium.
Questions parents bring us about family plans
Something not covered here? (727) 349-5211
Do you charge anything for your help?
No, the consultation costs nothing. The carrier you enroll with pays us, and your premium is the same as if you had signed up with that company directly.
Would it ever make sense to put our kids on their own plan?
In some cases. Children may qualify for a separate program, or a plan just for kids may be cheaper. We quote both setups and tell you whether splitting coverage saves real money or only adds paperwork.
Can we add a newborn in the middle of the year?
Yes. A birth or adoption opens a short window, usually 60 days, to add your child. Contact us early so coverage begins on the day of birth and nothing gets missed.
Will the lowest premium save us the most money?
Not always. A low premium usually means a high deductible, and children tend to need care. We add the premium to the out-of-pocket costs you can expect, so you see which plan is cheaper across twelve months.
Do you only work with families in St. Petersburg?
No. Our clients are in St. Petersburg and nearby towns like Pinellas Park, Gulfport and St. Pete Beach. We can meet by phone or video, so coming to our office is up to you.
